Obituary

Bertha A. Carignan, 106, of Manchester died on February 18, 2010 at her residence.

She was born in Manchester on February 23, 1903 and was the daughter of Joseph E. and Leda (Bergeron) Tremblay. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester.

She was married for 35 years to Lucien Carignan who died in 1966.

Mrs. Carignan was a shoe worker for many years.
She was a member of St. Anne Sodality of St. Theresa Parish.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and crocheting. She also was an avid and formidable cribbage player.

The family includes two sisters, Florida Favreau and Claire Tremblay, both of Manchester; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great great nephews.

IN HER LIFE: She was predeceased by six brothers, Ernest Tremblay, Raoul Tremblay, Armand Tremblay, Laurent Tremblay Sr., Henri Tremblay and Maurice Tremblay: and three sisters, Cecile Simard, Simone Bissonnette and Beatrice Dionne.

The family would like to especially thank the Visiting Angels and the VNA Hospice for their care and support.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech St., Manchester
