Obituary

FAIRHAVEN — Constance M. Hindle, age 84 years, formerly of New Bedford, died Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Alden Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fairhaven.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ethel (Turner) Hindle and a graduate of New Bedford High School. Connie received her B.A. at Pembroke College and her M.A. in Education at Brown University.

For several years, she lived and worked in Missouri in a church oriented program with college students. Connie then taught at Hollins College in Virginia and later at Mt. Holyoke College in Massachusetts. For 15 years, she was a math instructor at New Bedford High School until retiring.

Connie was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi, and the Bristol County and Mass. Teacher's Associations, active with Girl Scouts of America, and loved to travel especially to England. She was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church and the Altar Guild and Episcopal Church Women.

She loved her dogs and was active in dog training and grooming and entered many competitions in the New England area.

Her survivors are cousins in the Fall River area and England.

Connie's Memorial Service will be on April 24, 2010, at 2 P.M., in Grace Church Chapel.

Remembrances may be made in her name to the Scholarship Fund of her church, 133 School St., New Bedford, Ma. 02740.
