Obituary

William Perdue “Bud” Bryan, Jr., 90, of Tifton died Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2010, in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Sam Maves will officiate with burial to follow. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 20, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Bryan was born on April 7, 1919 in Tift County and was the son of William Perdue Bryan, Sr. and Elizabeth Mansfield Bryan, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Grace Bryan. He was a retired farmer and contractor and a member of Tifton’s First Presbyterian Church. He was inducted into the A.B.A.C. Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010 and was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He was one of the original vegetable plant growers in Tifton.

Mr. Bryan is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Williams Bryan of Tifton; three sons, Robert David Bryan, William P. Bryan III and Charles E. Bryan, Sr., all of Tifton; 12 grandchildren, Bill Bryan, Bob Bryan, Bonnie Bryan, Ben Bryan, Ed Bryan, Michael Bryan, Christa Bryan, Cason Swan, Brooke Mitchell, Colin Bryan, Myles Bryan and Mary Jo Bryan; and several great grandchildren.
