Richard M. Ganeto, 72, of New Bedford died Friday February 12, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Delia (Monge) Ganeto.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Manuel and Theresa (Oliveira) Ganeto, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
He was a member of the Fairhaven Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Mr. Ganeto was formerly employed as a construction worker and was a longtime member of the Laborers International Union, Local 385.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife; six children, Olen, Theresa, and Richard Ganeto Jr., Angela Graham, Renee Torinho, and Allen Britto; his siblings, Mary Amado, Delores Fernandes, Manuella, David, and Allen Ganeto; four stepchildren, Mark, Denise, Diane, and John; his aunt, Anna Gonsalves; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Darrin Ganeto and the brother of the late Alfred and Jeremiah Ganeto.
His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday Feb. 20, 2010 at 2 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 742 County St., New Bedford. Visiting hours are omitted. For online condolence book, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
