Abington – Bessie J. (Nickerson) Park 78 died Saturday February 13 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Park.
Born in Dedham and raised in Milton she was the daughter of the late William and Bessie (Boone) Nickerson and a graduate of Milton High School Class of 1951.
Bessie had been a resident of Abington for over 50 years and had enjoyed wintering in Largo, Florida for the last 10 years.
She was an avid collector of all things by Thomas Kinkaid and in her younger years enjoyed camping with her family. She was a very charitable woman, who never hesitated to give of her time.
She is survived by her children Stephen Park, Thomas Park and Christine Park all of Abington and Nancy Flores of Mashpee, her sister Ruthie Hazel of Largo, Florida as well as 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late David Park and sister of the late William Nickerson.
Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service to be held Saturday February 20 at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon cemetery, Abington. Visiting hours will be held one hour prior to the service from 10 -11 AM.
