Esther Morse (McSheehy) Bent of Marion, MA died September 29, 2003 at Sippican Healthcare Center after a long illness.
She was the wife of Robert M. Bent, Jr., to whom she was married for more than 60 years, and daughter of the late Dr. Theobald C. and Clare (Carter) McSheehy.
Mrs. Bent was born and raised in Worcester and lived in Wellesley most of her life before moving to Marion in 1972.
She was a communicant of St. Rita's Church in Marion.
Her many interests included foreign travel, bridge, golf and cooking for both family and friends. She was a voracious reader and prior to moving to Marion she did many years of volunteer work at Newton Wellesley Hospital.
Survivors include her husband; 2 sons, Robert M. Bent, III of Duxbury, MA and Peter E. Bent of Sherborn, MA; a daughter, Barbara B. of Marion; 2 brothers, Robert McSheehy and Vincent S. McSheehy, both of Worcester; a sister, Louise C. McSheehy of Worcester; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Mass at St. Rita's Church, 113 Front St. Marion, Thursday, October 9th at 10:30 AM.
Visiting hours are omitted.
