Mary Frances Stone, 82, of Tifton died Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Roger Tucker and Rev. Wayne Driskell will officiate with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery. Mitchell Weldon, Tommy Stone, Ander Tucker, Larry Tucker, Roger Stone and Bobby Weldon will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Stone was born on January 5, 1928 in Brooks County and was the daughter of G. J. Stone and Ollie Ashworth Stone, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Stone and Sammy Stone. She was a homemaker, who loved to cook and take care of her family. She was a member of Vanceville Congregational Christian Church.
Mrs. Stone is survived by her husband of 61 years, James Cecil Stone of Tifton; her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Gary Greer of Tifton; her granddaughter and grandson, Heather and Brandon Harper of Tifton; her grandson and granddaughter, Heath and Kristy Greer of Hinesville; and her three great grandchildren, Reese Harper and Wyatt Harper of Tifton and Anslee Greer of Hinesville. She is also survived by two sisters, Zona Bell Selph and Vivian Tucker, both of Tifton; and one brother, Jim Stone of Lakeland, Florida.
