
WORCESTER___Josephine (Valinskas) Plikun, 96, of Worcester, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 in Blaire House of Worcester, 116 Houghton St. Her husband, Jonas Plikun died many years ago.
She leaves a daughter, Anna Rosa Steinys and her husband, Joseph of Worcester; a son, Joseph Plikunas and his wife, Judy of Worcester; six grandchildren, Robert Steinys and Marlene, Ida Iannotti and her husband Robert, Audra Tasi and her husband John, Duane, Bruce and Jeffrey Plikunas, eleven great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces in Michigan, Canada, Lithuania and Germany. She was predeceased by a brother and four sisters in Lithuania. Josephine was born in Lithuania, a daughter of Vincas and Katerina (Cesnaite) Valinskas and has lived here since 1956.
Mrs. Plikun retired from St. Vincent Hospital in 1979. She was a member of St. Casimir Church.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, February 18 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, February 18, from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, 600 Liberty Highway, Putnam, Ct., 06260.
