Garry Dale Dickey, age 59, of Water Valley, MS passed away in Yalobusha County on February 14, 2010. He was born in Calhoun County to Lennie Mae Howell Dickey and the late Talmadge Walter Dickey. Garry worked for Rebel Air, Inc. as a sheet metal specialist and was a member of El Bethel Church in Yocona, MS. He was an avid deer hunter and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 from 5 until 7 PM. The funeral service will be Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Driver’s Flat Baptist Church in Calhoun County at 1:00 PM with Bro. Raymond Aven presiding and Ralph Newman assisting. Interment will follow in Driver’s Flat Cemetery with Nathan Walker, Buck Fondren, James Keel, and John King serving as pallbearers.
He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie McNeese and her husband Scott, of Olive Branch, MS; a son, Garry Walter “G.W.” Dickey of Olive Branch, MS; his mother, Lennie Mae Dickey of Sardis, MS; three sisters, Charlene Jeans of Horn Lake, MS, Patricia Dickey Spencer and Sharon Hughes, both of Sardis, MS; and four grandchildren, Taylor Danielle Dickey, Julian Micheal Dickey, Sarah Nicole Foster, and Adrienne Michelle Dickey.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Talmadge Dickey.
