WORCESTER___Thelma M. (Bourke) Marc-Aurele, 85, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 11, with her beloved family by her side. She leaves her husband of 67 years, Leo J.; 9 children: Paul L and his wife, Margaret., Carol Hanson and her husband, Robert, Robert L. and his wife, Nancy, Denise L. Bosma and her husband, Allen, Joseph and his wife, Angela, Elaine Boone and her husband, Jake, Jean Gates and her husband, Robert, Anne Marie Trupiano and her husband, Jerome and John P. and his wife, Lynda; 32 grandchildren, Paul Marc-Aurele, John (Jack) F. Marc-Aurele, Donna Adair, Andrew Marc-Aurele and his wife, Beth, Kristen Beck and her husband, Mike, Scott Hanson, Brian Hanson, Jenniffer Hanson, Robert Malone, Anthony Marc-Aurele, Andrea Marc-Aurele, Michael and Jacqui White, Deanna White and Shawn MacInnes, Courtney and Luis Encarnacion, Kyle Bosma, Kayne Bosma and his wife, Jennifer, Kevyn Bosma and his wife, Shannon, Kelly Thompson and her husband, Will, Renee Trupiano and her husband, Michael, Christopher Boone, Erin Shelton and her husband, Jeff, Jason Gates and his wife, Veronica, Michele Gates, Sonja and George Senecal, Kevin Latraverse, Leo Latraverse, Andrew Catino-Trupiano, Jenessa Trupiano, Elizabeth Marc-Aurele, Daniel Marc-Aurele, Zachary Marc-Aurele and Alison Marc-Aurele. She leaves one sister living; Lucille McDermott, wife of Charles McDermott of CT. She is predeceased by two brothers and three sisters; Robert and George Bourke, Yvonne Jette, Loretta Kasper and Antoinette Soderberg. Thelma had 32 great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins who were very dear to her.
Thelma was born in Worcester on July 28, 1924, the daughter of Anthony and Rosanna (Goyette) Bourke. She lived in Worcester and Berlin, MA before moving to Barefoot Bay, FL several years ago. She graduated from the former Commerce High School and married Leo on Jan 9, 1943. She was a receptionist for 9 years for the American Red Cross,. She worked in the cafeteria of Mass Electric Company, Westborough and also was a cook at the Piccadilly Pub, Westborough for many years.
She was very active in several churches including St. Joseph of Worcester, St. Joseph of Berlin, St. Luke of Barefoot Bay, FL as well as, being a founding member of St. Andrews of Worcester. She was an avid bowler and won the Florida seniors 65+ plus title in 1998
The Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 20, at 11:00 with a Mass at St. Joseph Church at Holy Family Parish, 35 Hamilton St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. is assisting the family with arrangements.
