Salem, NH – Mildred “Midge” V. (Gallagher) Hulse, 87, of Salem, NH died Saturday, February 13, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She would have turned 88 on February 28th.
Born and educated in Lawrence, Mildred was the daughter of William and Catherine (O’Neill) Gallagher. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1940.
For many years Midge was a cashier at Robichaud Hardware in Methuen, where she worked until the age of 83.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress and got joy in making her family members clothes. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends.
The widow of the late Albert W. Hulse Sr., with whom she shared close to 60 years of marriage, Mildred will be deeply missed by her 4 children, Albert W. Hulse Jr., of Salem, NH, Dorothy Dubois of Salem, NH, Donald A. Hulse of Methuen, and Judith C. DiVincenzo and her husband Patrick R., also of Salem, NH. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, Ricky, Brenda, Tami and Randy Hulse, Dennis Dubois Jr., Luan Dubois, Brandon Poisson, and Jeffrey and Jamie DiVincenzo, as well as 9 great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her 3 siblings, William Gallagher of Methuen, Elizabeth Driscoll of Groveland, and Dorothy Davies and her husband Roger of Manchester, NH and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sister Catherine Blanchette and her 2 brothers, John and Thomas Gallagher.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence, St., Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday the 18th at St. Monica’s church in Methuen at 9 AM with burial to follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
