Coleman, James L. "Boy", loving father, brother and friend was born Oct. 22, 1939 to the late Rebecca Coleman of Alberta, Alabama. He was blessed with a loving guardian, Estella Perkins. He was baptized at an early age and was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. James had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by everyone. He graduated from Wilcox County Training School, Miller Ferry, Alabama. After spending many years in Alabama he moved to Boston where he worked for Boston Gas until his retirement. Two of his greatestloves was his family and fishing. James was preceded in death by his brother Eugene and sister Alma Coleman. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving devoted friend, Aldith Clark of Marlborough. Three sons and two daughters, James (Sheila) Patterson of Avondale, AZ, Michael Thompson of Boston, Jaymie (Reggie) White of Avon, Patrick Thompson of Randallstown, MD, Rebekah Coleman of Marlborough as well as 16 grandchildren. Brother of Minnie (John) Hall of Birmingham, AL, Louise Coleman of Alberta, AL, Perry Coleman of Fitchburg, Leadall (Claresa) Coleman of Mattapan, Leroy Coleman of Alberta, AL and Willie (Annie) Coleman of Selma, AL. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Homegoing Celebration will take place at the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home 10 Tower St. (Opp. Forest Hills MBTA Station) Jamaica Plain on Tuesday February 16 at 12:30 PM. Visitation with the family from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM prior to the service. Relatives and friends are invited.
