METHUEN – Eileen (Mello) Costa 90 of Methuen died Tuesday February 9, 2010 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton, MA.
Born and educated in Lawrence, daughter of Alfred and Mary (Picanso) Mello, she was a graduated of Lawrence High School. She was a tax examiner with the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, MA prior to her retirement. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, St. Theresa’s Church in Methuen where she was a member of the Third Order of Mary.
The widow of Joseph P. Costa and mother of the late Ronald J. Costa, she is survived by her son Douglas R. Costa of Ft. Pierce Fl,,
Daughter-in-law Virginia Costa of Methuen, MA,
Grandson David J. Costa and his wife Michelle A. (Foster) of Haverhill, MA
Granddaughter Elizabeth A. Costa of Methuen, MA,
Great-grandaughter Lucy Anne Costa of Haverhill, MA,
And several nieces and nephews.
“Though her smile is gone forever and her hand we cannot touch we shall never lose sweet memories of the (great) (grand) mother we loved so much.”
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Monday 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Hone, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, St. Theresa’s Church in Methuen. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery also in Methuen, MA.
