Mr. Stephen E. Mills of Methuen, formerly of the Ballardvale section of Andover, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, February 7, 2010. He was 42 years old.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on December 6, 1967, he was the beloved son of Henry and Kathleen (Popadak) Mills of Methuen.
Mr. Mills was formerly employed by Belmore Livery and more recently by Enviro Mechanics.
Stephen was a graduate of Andover High School, class of 1986. He was a member of the British Club in Lawrence and an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and hunter. He loved to play darts and 45’s and also enjoyed watching sports on TV. He was a big fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.
He will be sorely missed by his parents, Henry and Kathleen Mills of Methuen, sister and brother-in-law; Melina and her husband James Ward of Methuen, nephew; Michael Ward, maternal grandmother; Antoinette Popadak of Andover and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Stephen was pre-deceased by his girlfrien, Linda Arlit, his maternal grandfather, Edward Popadak and his paternal grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Mills.
His funeral service was celebrated in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 9:30 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Calling hours were held Friday, February, 12, 2010, from 4 to 8 PM. Burial was in St. Augustine Cemetery in Andover. Donations in Stephen’s memory may be made to felinefriends.org.
