Marjorie Elizabeth Snook

In Puyallup, Washington, February 9, 2010, Marjorie Elizabeth Snook passed away suddenly and peacefully after a period of failing health at the age of 87 with family by her side. She was the wife of the late Chester Edmund Snook. Marjorie was born in Malden, MA, the youngest child of George William and Gertrude May (Gould) Paulding. She graduated with highest honors from Everett schools and later from Katharine Gibbs School in Rhode Island. Marjorie moved to Raynham in 1954 and spent her last year in Washington State. She retired from the Bristol County Registry of Deeds and also drove a school bus for the Town of Raynham. She was a member of the Bristol Plymouth Community Chorus (she had a beautiful voice) and the Memorial United Methodist Church. Marjorie loved being with her family and grandchildren and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her children, Barry (Trina) Snook of Taunton; Dawn (Charles) Buckner of Graham, WA; Valerie (Glenn) Williams of North Dighton; daughter-in-law Robin Snook of Hudson, ME.; brother Walter (Margaret) Paulding of Santa Barbara, CA; sister-in-law Gladys Hudson of Concord, MA; grandchildren Kendra Vaughan of Taunton; Karyn Hoffman of Raynham; Diana, Laura and Grace Williams of North Dighton; Erin McPherson of Hermon, ME; Jennifer Everly of Lincoln, ME; Derek Snook of Hudson, ME; and Rachael Buckner of Graham, WA; three great-grandchildren, Vance, Brody and Abigail; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Glen Snook and siblings George Paulding and Mildred Swanson. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 16, at 11 a.m. at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visiting hours on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment is private at the request of the family.
