Obituary

Mr. Francis G. “Butch” Barry, Jr., age 71 of Dennisport, formerly of Medford and Wakefield died Wednesday at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Diane “Penny” Barry (Caruso) with whom he shared more than 49 years of marriage.
Mr. Barry was born in Quincy, the son of the late Francis G. Sr. and Gladys (Lybig) Barry. He worked as a Psychological Technician at McLean Hospital for many years. Mr. Barry was a big fan of jazz music and the Boston Red Sox. He was a talented artist and a respected counselor at McLean Hospital. In earlier years he was in the U.S. Army and was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne. An exceptional war historian, or “buff” as he was affectionately called, he shared many historical events with his children that they carry with them today. In addition to his wife Penny, he is survived by a daughter: Kimberly and her husband Christopher Dell Isola of Concord NH. two sons: Michael Barry of Dennisport, Timothy Barry and his wife Laura of Danvers. Beloved grandfather of 9 grandchildren and is the dear brother of 10 other brothers and sisters. He will be sadly missed by his faithful dog Casper. Friends may call Sunday from 3 thru 7 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A Funeral Service will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, Monday at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment private at a later date.
