Jean Snapp Larkin, 78, of Pinehurst, formerly of Kingsport, Tennessee, died Thursday, Feb 11, 2010, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. Jean was born on May 3, 1931, to the late Lester and Frances Snapp of Limestone, Tennessee. She graduated from Limestone High School and East Tennessee State College. She taught school for several years until she was blessed with two wonderful children and she then became a homemaker. Jean was a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother. Although she was in failing health during her last few years of life, she remained steadfast in her love for family. She approached her death with grace and a strong faith, and her survivors rejoice that she has been freed from the pains she endured so heroically. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Will Larkin of Pinehurst, her daughter Alison Nottage and husband Dr. Anthony Nottage of Greensboro, NC, her son Will Larkin, Jr. and wife Elizabeth Larkin of Rogers, AR, and five wonderful grandchildren: Alexis, Alana and Nicholas Nottage of Greensboro, NC and Grant and Madeline Larkin of Rogers, AR. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, Feb 13th, at Community Presbyterian Church in Pinehurst where she was a long time member. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jean’s honor to Asbury Methodist Church, 1779 Bailey Bridge Road, Limestone, TN 37681.
