Manchester– Bertrand G. Martin, 79, died February 10, 2010 at Elliot Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born in Bonsecours, P.Q. Canada on February 11,1930 the son of Ephrem and Alberta (Rivard) Martin.
Prior to his retirement he worked for Ethan Allen Furniture and was a painter for Ephrem Martin Construction, Ray Martin Construction, Duval Painting and Sanders Associates in Nashua.
He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 5163 for over 60 years, as well as the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood.
In His Life: Family members include his wife of 52 years, Laurence (Corbeil) Martin of Manchester, 4 daughters, Mrs. John (Lucie) Slebodnick of Manchester, Carole Martin of Whitefield,VT., Mrs. Neil (Claire) Flynn of Bedford, Mrs. Donald (Louise) Shaw of Hillsborough, 1 son Mario Martin and his wife Kim of Manchester, 9 grandchildren, 2 brothers, John Martin of Bourne MA., Ray Martin of Bradenton FL., 2 sisters, Janine D’Anjou of Bradenton FL., and Francine Levesque of Attleboro, MA. He was predeceased by a brother, Marcel Martin.
Services: Calling hours will be on Friday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 12:30 pm in St. Anthony Church, Belmont St.
