TAUNTON – Mary M. (Medeiros) Silva, wife of the late Joseph M. Silva, died at Morton Hospital on Feb. 8, 2010.
She was 89.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Medeiros) deSilva.
Raise and educated in Taunton, she was later employed by the former Rennie Curtain Factory for over twenty-two years, retiring at the age of 72.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, Mrs. Silva enjoyed Church affairs, and was active in the Charismatic Prayer Group for many years.
She loved to work, and in her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son, Robert L. Silva of CA; three sisters, Edna White, Laura Grasso and Edith Ryng, all of Taunton; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late John C. Silva, and the sister of the late Manuel D. Silva.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Friday, Feb. 12th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 11th from 5 to 8 p.m.
