Sylvia Trowt Connolly - of Newton, formerly of Wellesley, Waban and Prides Crossing, died on February 6, 2010 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Thomas D. Connolly and devoted mother of Joan Johnson and her husband Peter, Nancy Johnson and her husband David, John Connolly and his wife Patricia, Charles Connolly and the late Thomas D. Connolly, Jr. Also survived by her loving grandchildren Meredith Johnson and her husband Albert Lavoie, Charles Connolly, Jr., Meghan Connolly, Katherine Connolly, Edward Connolly and many nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late John and Belvita Trowt, sister of Mary Shea of New Hampshire and the late Frances Trowt.
Sylvia retired from the administrative staff of the Andover Newton Theological School and was a member of the Nehoiden Golf Club at Wellesley College.
An honor student, lover of family, nature, walking, music, reading, travel and laughter, Sylvia was always interested in learning. Sylvia passed on to her family the value of hard work and the rewards of doing the best with who you are.
Calling hours on Friday, February 12th, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington Street, WELLESLEY. A memorial celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, February 13th, at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret’s Church, 672 Hale Street, Beverly Farms.
