Janice M. Makie, 60, of Bow, NH died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her family.
She was born in Manchester, NH on September 19, 1949 and was the daughter of Henri and Blanche (Goss) Belcourt.
She attended local schools and she enjoyed cooking, music, the beach and spending time with her friends in Bow, NH.
She worked at AIG for 20 years in the data processing department. She continued her career with Syntel of Troy, Michigan as a systems analyst until 2007. Her contract work brought her to Raleigh, North Carolina and Miami, Florida before moving back to New Hampshire to be with her family in 2007.
Jan is survived by her life partner of 25 years Paul Edney; a son, Kevin Orff of Merrimac, MA; her daughter, Karen Giguere of Chester, NH; six grandchildren; her brother, Donald Belcourt of Atkinson, NH; her extended family Mark Edney of Salisbury, MD and Melissa Westerman of Webster, NH.
The funeral service was held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, February 12, 2010.
