Jane T. (Kowalski) Melesh 86, of Franklin, died Sunday February 7, 2010 at Milford Care & Rehabilitation Center, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Melesh, who died in 1976.
Born in Jamaica, New York October 4, 1923 a daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (Swenkowski) Kowalski, she was raised and educated in New York and lived there for many years until moving to Franklin after the death of her husband.
For more than 20 years until her retirement, Mrs. Melseh worked in the cafeteria at Dean College in Franklin.
She enjoyed cooking, and was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
She is survived by a son, Thomas J. Melesh of Vail, Ariz., two daughters Linda S. Osman of Brooklyn, New York, and Diane J. Martin of Franklin, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Vincent, Walter, Ted, and Chester Kowalski, and the grandmother of the late Amy Martin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday February 11th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. www.franklinfuneral.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 10AM.
Interment will take place at the family lot in Long Island National Cemetery in New York.
