Mary R. (Donovan) Lopes, age 87 of Swansea passed away in Fall River, February 6, 2010. Widow of Frank Lopes, Jr. and daughter of the late Louis V. and Elizabeth E. (Burke) Donovan. Born in Fall River, she was a Swansea resident for nearly 60 years. She was a member of St. Dominic’s Parish in Swansea and formerly of Sacred Heart Church in Fall River. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Fall River. Mrs. Lopes was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, traveling and getting together with friends.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Elizabeth Mc Neil and her husband Earl and Frances A. Whiting and 3 sons: Lenny L., Frank P. and Edward J. Lopes, all of Swansea; 1 grandson: E.J. Mc Neil, III and wife Patricia of Boston and 1 great grandson: E.J. Mc Neil, IV.

Her calling hours for family and friends will be THURSDAY 5-8 P.M. A PRIVATE funeral for family members will take place in the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St.FRIDAY at 10:00 A.M. followed by services in the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. Interment will also be private in St. Patrick Cemetery.
