Obituary

Dorothy A. “Dot” Campbell, 96, passed away at the Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center in Medford on February 7th, 2010. She was born in Lowell on October 20th, 1913 to her parents William and Anna (Duggan) McKinnon. Dorothy has been a resident of Malden for most of her life. She is a graduate and valedictorian of Girls Catholic High School in Malden and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Salem State College. Dot was a well known Schoolteacher in Malden. She taught elementary education at the Daniels, Faulkner, Brown and Holmes Schools for over 20 years, retiring in 1975. Dot has been a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church in Malden for most of her life. She was active in the former 60 Club at Immaculate Conception Church for several years. She is survived by her children; Kenneth Campbell Jr. and his wife Donna of Melrose and Dierdre Campbell-Tompkins and her spouse Elizabeth of Malden; by her grandchildren Karen, Jennifer, Katie and Mariah; and by her great grandchildren Michael, Peter, Samantha and Shelby. Along with her parents, Dot was predeceased by her nusband Kenneth Campbell, by her brother William McKinnon and by her sister Ethel McKinnon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church Chapel, 600 Pleasant St., Malden on Tuesday January 9th at 10:30 AM followed by interment in Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Breslin Funeral Home on Tuesday morning from 9 AM to 10:15 AM only. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Bread of Life, 511 Main St., Malden, MA 02148.
