Obituary

Mr. Hugo M. Romagna, of Somerville died Friday Feb 5 in the Spaulding Hospital-Cambridge formerly known as the Youville Hospital. He was the husband of Rosalie Carcia Romagna with whom he shared more than 57 years of marriage. Mr. Romagna was born in Cambridge, son of the late Andrea and the late Alfonzina (Masci) Romagna. A graduate of Cambridge Rindge Tech High School, class of 1942 he was drafted the following year and served in the Army during WWII. During that time he was a clarinet player and played in the Army Band. Mr. Romagna loved music and was a gifted musician. He played many instruments. In later years he was a member of a marching band in Cambridge. He was a Sheet Metal Mechanic, and a member of Local #17 Sheet Metal Worker's Union. He worked for a company fabricating metal signs. In his spare time he enjoyed building boats, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. A car fanatic, he had been the owner of vintage Cadillac and Mercedes Benz vehicles. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Mark Romagna and his wife Julie of Winchester, Stephen Romagna and his wife Annette of Belmont. Beloved grandfather of Andy, Alison, Matthew, Christopher & Dana Romagna. Brother of Peter Romagna of Burlington, Dora Sateriale of Stoneham, Laura Cerena of Malden and the late Lena Barker. Friends may call Monday from 4 thru 7 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Catherine Of Genoa Church, 179 Summer Street, Somerville, Tuesday at 10:00 am.
