DUDLEY - Peter A.”Pete” Strzelewicz, 85, of Dudley, died Thursday, February 4, after an illness. His wife of 37 years, Elizabeth L.“Betty” (Hockenson) Strzelewicz, died in 2008.
He leaves 2 daughters, Elizabeth L. “Betty” Blodgett and her husband Michael G. of Webster and Stephanie George and her husband George H. of Oxford; 2 grandchildren, Kate Bromley of Leominster and Andrew Bromley of Webster; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Anthony and Bruno Strzelewicz and by 2 sisters, Catherine Filipski and Victoria Groh.
He was born and raised in Webster. After serving in the Navy in World War II, he resided in California, where he attended an art college. He returned to Webster and moved to Dudley in 1970.
Mr. Strzelewicz owned and operated Art Craft Screen Printing in Dudley. He was also a professional wild life artist: several of his paintings were published on magazine covers. He retired at age 83.
Memorial calling hours will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 9, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster. A committal service with military honors will be held in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster, at the convenience of the family.
