Mr. John A. Pedreira, age 81, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died on Friday February 5, 2010 at Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Theresa (O'Brien) Pedreira who died in 1982.
He was born in Lowell on July 13th, 1928, son of the late Joseph & Emelina (Langlois) Pedreira. He was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church in South Lowell.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Carpenter for UMass Lowell for 12 years. He had also worked at J.E. Carroll Machine Shop in Tewksbury.
John enjoyed hunting, and trips to Foxwood.
He is survived by his son, William J. Pedreira of Tewksbury, a daughter, Donna M. (Considine) Camara of Lowell; a grandson, Barry M. Camara and his wife Clariza of Lowell; 4 great grandchildren, Shyann Camara, Sa'ayla Cameron, Stephen Price and Joseph Belodeau; a son-in-law, John Considine; and step-grandchildren, Erin and Christopher Considine.
He was also the father of the late Charlene T. Pedreira who died October 5, 2003.
Relatives & Friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass on Wednesday Feb. 10, 2010 at 9:30 AM at Immaculate Conception (LOWER) Church- 144 E. Merrimack St., Lowell. Everyone is invited to greet the family in the LOWER CHURCH from 9:00 to 9:30. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation New England Chapter-85 Astor Ave., Suite #2, Norwood, MA 02062.
