Catherine A. "Kitty" (Buckley) Dolaher, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at her daughter's home in Everett following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 74 years old.
Kitty was born in Boston on February 19, 1935. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School. Kitty worked as an assembler for Western Electric many years ago and was also a former employee of The Charlestown Headstart Program where she worked for several years. Kitty took great pleasure with traveling with her husband Dapper to Ireland 23 times in 17 years.
Kitty is the beloved and loving wife of 52 years to James P. "Dapper" Dolaher. She is the devoted mother of James P. Dolaher and his friend Karen McHugh of Charlestown, Karen Hakkam and her husband Ahmed of Haverhill, Michael P. Dolaher and his wife Kathleen of Quincy, Patricia Pires and her husband Derek of Everett and Maureen Getchell and her husband John of Everett. She is the loving Nana of 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved daughter of the late Robert F. and Alice (Gatenby) Buckley. She is the beloved sister of Anne Cassidy of West Roxbury, Joan Cassidy of West Roxbury, Mary Barrett of Burlington and the late Robert Buckley. She is the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kitty's Funeral on Monday, February 8, 2010, at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Visiting hours are on Sunday, February 7, 2010 from 12 to 4 p.m.
