Russell J. Henry, 75, of Hanover, died Monday February 1st at the South Shore Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born in Stoughton, son of the late Myles S. and Susan (Cambell) Henry. Russell grew up in Hanover and a graduate of Hanover High School, class of 1953.
He was a veteran of the United States Air force during the Korean War from 1953-1957.
He worked for many years for the Carpenter’s Union Local II, as a union carpenter and was also a member of the Local 40 Carpenter’s Union. Russell was an avid motorcycle and snowmobile rider and was very active in several local clubs.
He is survived by his sister Phyllis L White of Hanover, a niece Joanne L. Conefrey of Hanover; several cousins, Janice Schofield of So. Weymouth, Janet Morgan of Cary, NC and John and Robert Morgan, both of Whitman.
His services will be held on Sunday February 7th at 4:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Visitation will be prior to the service on Sunday from 1:00-4:00PM.Graveside services will be held on Monday February 8th at 10:00AM in the Hanover Center Cemetery, Hanover, MA. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to the Animal Rescue League of Boston, P.O. Box 265, Boston, MA., or to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
