FRANKLIN
Dora M. Champion, 91, formerly of the New Hampton Rd. died September 26, 2003 in the Pleasant View Center in Concord. She was born in Fall River, MA on November 1, 1911, the daughter of George and Fabiona (Benjamin) Cantara.
She was a former resident of Sanbornton and had lived for more than 50 years on New Hampton Rd. in Franklin. She had resided in Lakeport with her son and his wife since 2000.
Mrs. Champion was the widow of Andrew T. Champion Sr., who died November 21, 1982.
She was a life member of the Women’s Fleet Reserve Auxiliary and enjoyed embroidery, puzzle solving and braiding rugs. Dora was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Family members include two sons, Andrew T. Champion Jr. and his wife, Mary of Lakeport and Richard Fedion of North Conway; eleven grandchildren, Priscilla Dodge of Franklin, Joyce Lewandowski of Manchester CT, James Champion, John Champion, Michael Champion and Lori Champion, all of Lakeport, Richard Fedion of Concord, Theresa Weitz of Tewksbury MA and Lisa Demarco of Billerica MA; many great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. She was pre deceased by two granddaughters, infant Susan Champion and Linda Beaupre of Franklin in 1995.
A calling hour was held in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Laconia on Tuesday from noon to 1 PM. A funeral ceremony was held at 1 PM in the funeral home. Rev. George Hankins-Hull, Spiritual Care Coordinator at LRGHealthcare officiated. Burial followed in Franklin Cemetery. Timothy C. Molan was the funeral director.
