Obituary

Gladys V. (Bogosian) Shyne, 97, of Milford, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 after a period of declining health. She was the wife of Eugene F. Shyne who died in 2001.

Born in Armenia on November 25, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Hargope and Shushan (Garagosian) Bogosian. Mrs. Shyne was a resident of Milford for the past 10 years and formerly resided in Walpole.

Before her retirement, she was a supervisor at New England Telephone & Telegraph Co. where she worked for 25 years.

Mrs. Shyne was a lifelong member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and canning tomatoes and was famous for her Thanksgiving dinners and apple pie.

Mrs. Shyne was an avid Red Sox fan and also enjoyed vacationing on Cape Cod and traveling across the country and overseas with her husband.

She is survived by her son, Jeremiah E. Shyne, his wife Kimberley of Milford and two grandchildren, Jeremiah and Katelyn Shyne of Milford.

She was a sister of the late Jacob, Paul and Jasper Bogosian and Ethel Christopherson.

She is also survived four sister-in-laws, Peggy Bogosian, Janet Zade, Virginia Jama and Elizabeth d'Ancona, her brother-in-law James Shyne and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Monday, February 8 at 9:15 a.m. from the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St., Walpole followed by a funeral Mass at St. Timothy’s Church in Norwood at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in South Walpole.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m.
