Obituary

Robert V. Minchello, 77, passed away at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford on February 1, 2010. He was born in Medford on February 24th, 1932 to his parents Vincent and Catherine (Mobilia) Minchello. Robert was raised and educated in Somerville and is a graduate of Somerville High School and Wentworth Technical Institute in Boston. He served his country honorably during the Korean War as a member of the United States Army. Robert was a retired Project Manager for the Massachusetts Highway Department where he worked for over 10 years. Previously he had worked as a Draftsman for the LeMessiers Company in Cambridge for over 35 years. He was a member of the Arlington Men’s Club and the VFW in Cambridge. He was an avid bowler and golfer who also enjoyed Ballroom Dancing. He is survived by his wife Lorraine (Toland) Minchello, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage; by his children; Robert V. Minchello Jr. and his wife Carol of Woburn, Kathleen McCauley and her husband Michael of Woburn, James Minchello and his wife Linda of Medford and Donna Savino and her husband John of Stoneham; by his grandchildren; Meredith O’Keefe, Heather Lentz, Robert V. Minchello III, Angela and Jamie Minchello, Sabrina, Samantha and Mercedes McCauley and Nicholas and Joseph Savino; by his great grandchild Kiley O’Keefe; and by his siblings; Edward Minchello of Medford, Dorothy Uhl of Valencia, CA and Donald Minchello of Braintree. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Robert was predeceased by his brother John Minchello. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden at Medford line on Friday February 5th at 9:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday February 4th from 4-8 PM.
