Richard M. Hicks, 57 of Foxboro and formerly of Roslindale died January 31 in the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury.
Born in Boston, April 30, 1952, the son of the late Eugene and Elaine (Sousa) Hicks, Mr. Hicks was raised in Roslindale and after a career in the Army, he retired and moved to Foxboro 5 years ago.
Mr. Hicks was a graduate of Roslindale High School.
Mr. Hicks proudly served in the Army for over 25 years before retiring as a Sergeant First Class.
He is survived by his children, Melissa, Richard, and Daniel Hicks, all of California.
He is also survived by his brother Steven Hicks of North Carolina, sister Debra Maltais of Dedham and brother John Hicks of Medway. He was the brother of the late Dori Hicks.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 6 in St. John Chrysostom Church in West Roxbury at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be at a late date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
