Eleanor (Dibblee) Bensusan, 85, of Bridgewater, formerly of Norwell, passed away Monday February 1, in the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Douglass Bensusan. She was born in Roxbury, daughter of the late Frederick and Emily (Applebee) Dibblee.
Eleanor grew up in Roxbury and a graduate of Roxbury High School .She worked in the clerical department for John Hancock Insurance for over 30 years.
She was an avid reader of books.
She is survived by her sister Judith Boyd and her husband Lawrence of Bridgewater, her nieces Karen Boyd and her companion Bill Baker of Bridgewater, Susan Provost and her husband Peter of Halifax, her nephews Russell Boyd and his wife Kelly, of Weymouth Kevin Boyd and his compainion Wannipha Harlow of Middleboro and the late David Boyd; also her great niece Teresa Callahan of Whitman and her great nephews Garrett Boyd of Middleboro and Eric Boyd of Weymouth.
Her services will be held on Thursday February 4th at 10:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, burial will follow in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree, MA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to her service from 9:00-10:00AM.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 1115 West Chestnut St., Brockton, MA.02301.
