Doris A. (Lindsey) Raftes, 87, died Sunday, January 24, at the Norwood Hospital in Norwood after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late George C. Raftes. Born in Boston, she was raised in the South End and attended Boston Schools. She lived in Brockton, Brighton and Hyde Park before moving to Dedham several years ago. She was a homemaker. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling with her family and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Kearney of Marshfield, Marie Raftes of Dedham and John Raftes of NH. She was the mother of the late Charles “Champy” Raftes. She was the sister of Ida “Tiny” Bradley of Natick and Albert Lindsey of TX. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday, February 2 from 6-8 PM.
