Obituary

CHACE, Helen E. (Belcher), of Winthrop, at the age of 101, January 31, 2010. Beloved wife of the late Boardman H. Chace. Devoted mother of Bradford A. Chace of Winthrop. Dear sister of the late Galen, Alden, and Wallace Belcher. Also survived by several cousins and many loving friends. A Funeral Service will be held at the First Church of Winthrop United Methodist Church on Wednesday, February 3, at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be in Winthrop Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. WINTHROP on Tues. only from 2-4 and 7-9. Donations in her name may be made to the First Church of Winthrop United Methodist 217 Winthrop St. Winthrop, MA, 02152. Helen was a member of the Margaret Circle (UMW), the Winthrop Improvement and Historical Association, and the Popular Authors Literary Club. She was a graduate of Lesley College in 1931, and was a 2nd grade teacher in the Winthrop Public School System from 1931-1974.
