Doris (Desrosiers) Mignault, 94, of Lawrence MA, passed away peacefully at the Wingate at Andover nursing facility in Andover MA on Saturday, January 30th. Doris, wife of the late Rene J. Mignault, was a long time Red Sox fan who loved challenging Crossword puzzles, playing 45’s & Scrabble. She also loved to bowl and was in several leagues at the Richwood Lanes in South Lawrence. Her favorite pastime in her early years was the time spent driving with her husband, whether it be up to Canada or around New England. She was a long time employee of Raytheon Corporation in Andover and Waltham and retired from there in 1980. Doris was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in South Lawrence from birth until its closing. She was valedictorian and one of six members of the first graduating class at Sacred Heart High School in 1933.
Family was a very important part of Doris’ life. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren & great grandchildren. She leaves two daughters, Claire and her husband William Bodenrader of Lawrence MA and Janet and her husband Alan J. Phair of Atkinson NH. She also leaves four grandchildren, Coleen wife of Robert Scharn of Haverhill, MA, Karen and her husband Kenneth Serverius of Lawrence MA, Melanie and her husband James Scharn of Atkinson NH & Christopher and his wife Michele Phair of Sandown NH. She also leaves great-grandchildren, Hayley & Kathryn Scharn, Matthew Scharn, and Kiara & Isabella Phair, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family especially would like to thank the ground floor nursing staff and all the people at Wingate at Andover, for the love, care and compassion given to their mother. To the staff of Beacon Hospice, a special thank you for the assistance given and love shown during her final days
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 2 from 4 to 8pm at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, (Rt. 97), Salem, NH. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 10:30 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Parish, 200 Lawrence Road, Salem NH Internment will immediately follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in South Lawrence MA.
