Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Robert H. Delhaye, age 97, a resident of Tewksbury for 42 years, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.
He was the husband of Aimee L. (Derocle) Delhaye, who passed away on April 6, 1999.
Born in Boulogne, Sur Mer, France on February 16, 1912, he was the son of the late Francis and Lucienne (Buosque) Delhaye.
Mr. Delhaye was raised in Boulogne, France and attended local schools.
In 1927, he immigrated to the United States and resided in New York until moving to Tewksbury in 1968.
Mr. Delhaye served during World War II in the U.S. Navy .
Following his military service, he was employed as a private chef by the Harry F. Guggenheim, the C.V. Whitney and the Ogden Phipps families of New York.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed the General Service Administration at the Andover Service Center.
He was a member of the Societe Culinaire Philantropique of New York
Mr. Delhaye had a passion for baseball and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
He enjoyed many activities including reading, cooking, word puzzles and caring for the landscape at his home.
Mr. Delhaye is survived by one daughter, Anne-Marie A. Delhaye of Tewksbury; also several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Frank Delhaye, formerly of Florida.
At the request of the family there will be No Calling Hours. Funeral services and interment are private. Donations in his memory may be made to the New England Baptist Hospital, 125 Parker Hill Ave., Boston, MA 02120. Arrangements entrusted to Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, Tewksbury.
