Lawrence Edward “Junior” Blackwood, Jr, 60, of Ravenel, husband of Martha Lee Blackwood died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Roper Hospital.
Funeral service will be held Monday, February 1, 2010 at 1 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville.
Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, Summerville.
Friends may visit at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o’clock Sunday evening. Flowers will be accepted.
Junior was born August 8, 1949 in Charleston, son of Jimmy and Betty Jean Garvin of Ladson. He attended USC. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a mason and a member of Caddin Hunting Club. He was a maintenance foreman with Kapstone and was a member of Sauldam Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are: 1 son: Lawrence Edward Blackwood, III of Ravenel, 1 daughter: Lisa Blackwood McElhaney and her husband Ted of Ravenel, 3 grandchildren: Lauren and T.J. McElhaney and Tyler Blackwood all of Ravenel and 1 sister: Tammy Thomas of Summerville. He was predeceased by his sister and brother: Pauline Blackwood and Ronnie Garvin.
