Obituary

John David Campbell, 63, of Summerville, husband of Masako Johnson Campbell, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Trident Medical Center.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 3 until 5 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 South Main Street, Summerville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

John was born August 22, 1946 in Troy, New York, son of the late Gardner J. Campbell and Mary Peak Campbell. He graduated from Troy High School in Troy, NY. He served in the Marine Corps for 4 years and served in the Vietnam War. He was a past member of the American Legion Post 166 in Goose Creek and a member of Gold Wing Road Riders Association and Southern Cruisers. He was employed by Berkley County Water & Sanitation as a maintenance engineer. He was formerly employed by North Safety Products for 25 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife are: 1 Sister: Marilyn Nicholaou (Jim) of Charleston, SC; 1 Son: John David (Helen) of Singapore, 3 Step Children: Mike Johnson (Sundae) of Summerville, SC, Michelle Johnson (John) of Summerville, SC and Christina Moore (Andy) of Ashville, NC; 7 Grandchildren.
