Miss Marietta R. Lynch, age 94, passed away at her home in Gloucester following a long illness. Born in Woburn she was the daughter of the late Thomas K. and Susie B. (McCall) Lynch. Miss Lynch was a life long resident of Woburn and was member of the Woburn High School graduating class of 1927. Miss Lynch worked as a banker for forty-six years, retiring as the vice president of the First National Bank of Boston in 1974. She was active with the Firnabank Club which was a charitable organization of women bankers and with the National Assoc. of Banker Women. Miss Lynch was very devoted to her family and enjoyed her loving nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews. During her retirement years she enjoyed traveling and being active with her bridge club. She also enjoyed tending to her rose garden at her home in Gloucester. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Marietta´s memory to the St. Charles Borromeo Church Restoration Fund or to Hospice Care Inc. 41 Montvale Ave, Stoneham, MA 02180.
In addition to her late parents, Marietta is preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. George W. Lynch, Thomas K. Lynch Jr. and three sisters Gertrude A. Lynch, Kathryn A. Mullin and Helen E. Lynch. She is also preceded in death by her nephew Michael F. Lynch.Marietta is survived by her sisters Doris T. Lynch of Woburn and Mrs. Phillip J. (Esther) McManus of Winchester. She is also survived by her nephews, William Lynch and his wife Nancy, Nicholas F. Lynch, Paul McManus and his wife Karen, nieces Marietta E. Lynch, Margaret Pearson and her husband James, Phyllis Kennally and her husband John. She is further survived by many loving grand nieces and grand nephews.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated, Saturday in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are omitted. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
