OBITUARY
Lunenburg
Wilho W. Hakala, 92, of Lunenburg, died Tuesday January 26, at Sunbridge
Nursing Home in Hadley.
Wlho was born in Fitchburg July 15, 1917. the son of William and Martha
(Tammivirta) Hakala. He graduated from Fitchburg High School and had
lived in Lunenburg over 50 years.
Wilho was employed as a machinist over 30 years at Simonds Saw & Steel
Co. now Simonds Industries. He was a member of the Simonds Recreation
Club and a member of Finnish Center at Saima Park. Wilho was an artist
and one of his pictures was featured at an exhibition of local artists at the
Fitchburg Art Museum. He was an accomplished photographer. He also
played a "mean" harmonica.
Wilho leaves his wife of 58 years, Theresa (Levesque) Hakala, his son and
daughter-in-law Karl J. Hakala and Robin and their daughter Karli T. Hakala
of Frostburg, Md. He also leaves his daughter and son-in-law Karen A,
Hakala and her husband Joseph F. Connoly and their children William F.
Connoly of Alexandria, Va. and Jeanne R. Hakala of Amherst. His brother
and sister-in-law Eino O. and Mary Hakala died before him.
Funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions
in his memory may be made to Finnish Center at Saima Park P.O. Box 30,
Fitchburg, Ma. 01420. Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. Fitchburg is
assisting the family.
