Barbara Ann DesRoche, 69, of Methuen died unexpectedly Saturday January 23, 2010. Barbara was born on January 3rd, 1941 in Lawrence, Ma. the daughter of the late Andrew and Myra (Jennings) Fortin. She attended Lawrence High School and was married to Robert H. DesRoche in 1958. Barbara has been employed, for many years, as a bartender for The VFW and American Legion both of Methuen, Ma. Barbara and her husband happily shared their life in Methuen for forty years.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, her eldest son, Robert (Bobby) of Manchester, NH, her son, Sean who lives and works in Boston along with her grandson, Robbie DesRoche living in Manchester and currently attending Providence College, Providence, RI. She leaves her brother, Andrew Fortin of Maine and sister, Linda Hanson of Florida and many nieces and nephews throughout Massachusetts.
Calling hours will be on Thursday January 28, 2010 from 3 to 8 pm at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday January 29 at 9:00 am in St Monica Church, Methuen. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The MSPCS, Animal Rescue League, 400 Broadway, Methuen, Ma. 01844.
