Richard W. “Rick” Desjardins, 63, of Bellingham, died Sunday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Roseline C. (Guillemette) Desjardins. They were married on May 24, 1969.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of Colombe B. (Menoche) Desjardins of Woonsocket, and the late Richard W. Desjardins, II. He was raised in Woonsocket and resided in Bellingham for over 20 years.
Mr. Desjardins was employed as a draftsman and supervisor for several firms in the region including, ITT Grinnell, Oliver Barrett’s, Vista Wall and Fib Fab.
Rick enjoyed fishing and several other pastimes. His true passion in life was music. As a musician himself, he played the base guitar and harmonica in a band. He derived tremendous joy from providing music for others. He was a lover of classic rock and the music of Bob Dylan was the rhythm of Rick’s life.
In addition to his wife of 40 years and his mother, Rick is survived by a son, Christopher E. Desjardins of Burrillville, a daughter, Danielle J. Braley of North Smithfield, four grandchildren, Cassandra and Harrison Braley, and Ashley and Emma Desjardins. He was the brother of Ronald G. Desjardins of Woonsocket.
His funeral will be Friday at 9:00 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5-8 pm.
