Constance M. Silva

TEWKSBURY - Constance M. Silva, 73, a resident of Tewksbury for the past 45 years, died Tuesday morning at her home, surrounded by her family, following a courageous year long battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel W. Silva, who died in 1971.
She was born in Boston, July 12, 1936, a daughter of the late David H. and Christine (McPhail) Matthews. She was raised in Medford, and graduated from Medford High School. She had lived in Tewksbury since 1965.
In her earlier years, she owned the Stoneham franchise of Dunkin Donuts. She later worked at Compugraphic/Agfa in Wilmington, and most recently as a Nursing Assistant at Tewksbury Hospital.
In her recent years, she was active at the Tewksbury Senior Center.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberley and Jeffrey MacDonald of Methuen; a son, Daniel W. Silva Jr. of South Boston; two grandchildren, Jay MacDonald and Blair MacDonald both of Methuen; three siblings, Hugh Matthews and his wife Marie of Hampstead, NH, Ralph Matthews and his wife Rose of Westboro,MA, Audrey Stone and her husband Thomas of Medford; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Charlene Matthews.
Her Funeral Service was held Saturday, Jan. 30, in the Funeral Home, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Memorial contributions to the Middlesex East - VNA Hospice, 607 North Ave., Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880 will be appreciated.
