Funeral services for Mrs. Rosalind Batz, 88, of Sycamore, GA will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn, GA. Mrs. Batz passed away Sunday at Tift Regional Hospital following an extended illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.
The daughter of the late William and Emma Jahanke Vogt, she was born in Cook Co., IL and had lived in Turner Co. since 1996. She was a member of The St. Paul United Church of Christ in Palatine, IL. A homemaker she enjoyed cooking, knitting and listening to her favorite music. She was the widow of Mr. Calvin M. Batz.
Survivors include her sons, Wayne Batz, Sycamore, GA and Melvin Matthews, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, her grandchildren, Mark and Michael Matthews and Thomas Kolze; her great-grandchildren, Haley, Sarah and Christian Kolze. She is also survived by her sister Alvina Mae Vanderuate, South Elgin, IL.
The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10:00 until the hour of services at Perry Funeral Chapel.
