KISSIMMEE, FL/WEBSTER - Frederick J. “Ricky” Giguere, 64, of Kissimmee, FL, formerly of Webster, died Tuesday, January 19, in Florida. His wife of 38 years, Marilyn E. (DePlacido) Giguere, died in 2007.
He leaves 4 daughters, Dawn M. Cortis and her husband Duane A. of Dudley, Tara M. Gelineau and her husband Kevin R. of Webster, and Kyra M. Giguere and Heidi M. Giguere, both of Kissimmee, FL; 4 grandchildren, Heather, Benjamin and twins Evan and Emily; a brother, Larry Giguere of Rocky Mount, NC; his mother-in-law, Carmela (Servidio) DePlacido of Westerly, RI; nephews and nieces.
He was born in Springfield and raised in Ludlow, the son of Frederick E. and Theresa (Dahlke) Giguere. He graduated from American International College in Springfield and from the Saint Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester. He resided in Webster before moving to Kissimmee in 1990.
Mr. Giguere was a registered nurse. He worked at Saint Vincent Hospital and at U/Mass/Memorial Healthcare, both in Worcester. He then was a nurse in Florida until his retirement.
He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kissimmee. He enjoyed golfing and puzzles.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, January 26, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St., Webster. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley. A calling period will be from 9:00 to 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 26, in the funeral home.
