George Lee Hill, 59, of Tifton died Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Jason Jones and Chaplain Earl Perry will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Members of the ABATE Motorcycle Club will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Hill was born on September 12, 1950 in Tift County and was the son of Charlie Maxwell Hill and Barbara Howell Hill, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Norma Hill Hester and her husband, Milton V. Hester; and one brother, Norman D. Hill. He was the owner and operator of New Boy Grill and former owner of Hill Roofing. He was a member of New River Baptist Church and served in the Army National Guard. He was a graduate of Tift County High School and lived in Tifton most of his life. He was a member of the ABATE Motorcycle Club. He loved his family and many friends, loved riding his motorcycle, loved life and lived it to the fullest.
Mr. Hill is survived by two sons, John Matthew Hill of Tifton and Jason Lee Hill of Fernandina, Florida; one daughter and son-in-law, Felicia Hill Cox and her husband, David, of Jacksonville, Florida; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Winston and Madine Hill of Tifton and Johnnie and Martine Hill of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Frances and H. L. “Buddy” Noland of Tifton; one sister-in-law, Shelby Jean Hill of Salt Lake City, Utah; his aunts, Eliza Hill Holland of Tifton and Hortense Howell Brown of Florida; an uncle, Marvin Howell of California; his grandchildren, Destiny Hill, Austin Lee Hill, Casey Cox, Brett Cox, Mia Cox and one grandchild on the way; and a large number of nieces, nephews and special friends.
