Plymouth – Sally J. (Delano) Harrington 70 died Friday January 22 after a brave battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife for 37 years of the late Paul E. Harrington.
Born in Weymouth and raised in Rockland she was the daughter of the late William and Helen (MacRae) Delano and a graduate of Rockland High School.
Sally had been a 30 year resident of Whitman before her move to Plymouth 15 years ago. She had been long time employee of the former Joe Doran Insurance Company of Whitman and later Tosca-Brady Insurance where she remained until her retirement in 1993. After her retirement she devoted herself to helping raise her much loved grandchildren.
She loved crafts of all kinds and was a talented sewer and quilt maker and in the spring and summer she enjoyed her gardening.
She is survived by her loving children Paul E. Harrington Jr. of East Bridgewater, Patricia Pickard and her husband Darrell of Middleboro, and Alison Ruggiero and her husband John of Weymouth, her sisters Mary Ford of Plymouth and Shirley Petite of Ft. Myers, FL. She is also survived by her three grandchildren Alex, Lindsay and Dominic as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday January 27 at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday January 26 from 4-8 PM. Donations in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society 1115 West Chestnut Street/ Suite 301, Brockton, MA 02301
