Obituary

Mr. G. Normand Bourque, age 62, of South Berwick, Maine, formerly of Lowell, MA, died on Thursday January 21, 2010 at the Wentworth-Douglas Hospital in Dover from injuries sustained in an auto accident on Dover Point Road in Dover that evening.
He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on September 11, 1947, son of the late Joseph R. Bourque and Annette A. (Brisson) Bourque. He received his education in the Lowell school system. He was a former altar boy and communicant of the former St. Jean Baptiste Church in Lowell.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a social services counselor for many years. Following his retirement, he pursued one of his passions of buying and selling rare and estate-type jewelry and operated a buy/sell jewelry business called "Third Rock from the Sun."
An avid animal lover, he was especially fond of his cat "Fancy."

Normand is survived by his two brothers and a sister-in-law: Richard "Dick" Bourque, and Ron & Claudia Bourque, all of Pelham, NH; a niece, Tammie (Bourque) Landry and her husband Brice, of Pelham, NH a great-nephew, Noah Landry, and a great-niece, Nicholette Landry, both of Pelham, NH; also many cousins in the Bourque and Bertsimas families; he also leaves many dear friends in Maine and from "The Navy Yard."

Relatives & Friends will be received on Monday Jan. 25, from 4:00-8:00 PM at the M.R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, MA 01854. Funeral Tuesday morning with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9 o'clock at St. Patrick's Church, 282 Suffolk St., Lowell. Interment will be private.
